Human Papillomavirus Working Group


HPV-associated cancers are common in People Living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (PLWH), especially anal and cervical cancer. The HPVWG hopes to build upon the results from its recently completed landmark trials- the ANCHOR trial for anal dysplasia and the AMC099 trial for cervical dysplasia .

The overall goals of the Human Papillomavirus Working Group include to:

  • Developing more effective, less toxic, and more patient-centric approaches for the treatment of pre-cancerous High-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions (HSILs)
  • Improving diagnostic testing for screening for anal HSILs
  • Expanding HPVWG trials in anal HSIL to Latin America
  • Evaluating therapeutic options for prevention and treatment of cervical neoplasia globally
