The AMC scholar award program was established to foster the development of new clinical investigators at AMC domestic and international sites to pursue careers in HIV associated malignancies research within the context of the AMC. Different categories of awards are aimed at U.S. domestic applicants proposing clinical research studies, applicants from AMC sites in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, and applicants proposing laboratory and/or translational research.

Awards provide funding for one or two years (second year dependent on demonstration of adequate progress and participation in AMC activities in the first year) and provide opportunities for scholars to participate in the scientific activities and clinical trials of the AMC.

Applications for the AMC Scholar Award Program are currently being accepted for the 2023-24 grant year.
